Keeping up your solace and your pride
You'll wait a lonely life
Muster up the courage in the night
Don't bother, everything's alright
An engine's hum will leave it all behind
Fall in the palms of echoing times
You know deep down you're nothing but a myth
Can you only trust your little mind?
Ooh, it's gonna let you down
Ooh, it's gonna let you down
Even this reverberating sound unwound itself, casually
Implausible like microscopic doves
Are they real, or are they only love?
'Cause even when the day is full of plans
You feel its heavy hollow end
Like talking trains inside a hollow tree
Free from the track and finally free of me
Ooh, they're gonna let you down
Ooh, they're gonna let you down

I was on a train travelling to Seefeld in Austria and had nothing but the Alps to look over from the windows. This was a perfect compliment to the environment I was in Robert A Johnson

Heard WB on a late BC night. Wow.
Sometimes feels familiar, then "Can't Go Home" pops up as the jewel that says there is more here than you thought! Anthony B Cook

Shane Butler (Quilt) formed a band with his love interest Caity Shaffer and made great indie rock/pop tunes with lyrics that full of art, poetry and complex human emotions. How to choose a favorite track? Goodness, The epic finale, "Takes One To Know One"? The rollicking "Cut To The Quick"? The folky "Common Ground" and "Vital Sign" featuring the swoony, swaying vocals of Caity? So, so many! But I will choose the ever-lovely "Gamblers On A Dime" which I can listen to constantly! If Wooden Shjips traded their sails for a prairie schooner, this is what you might hear them playing around the campfire at night on the Great Plains: homespun country-rock with a hint of psychedelia. Wonderful stuff, from start to finish. neu-mann
